My list:

Movies: Amadeus, It's a Wonderful Life, Pulp Fiction, Fargo, American Beauty (First two will always be the same, the rest can move).

TV Shows: The Sopranos, X Files, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Six Feet Under, Seinfeld, Simpsons

Books: Till We Have Faces, The Brothers Karamazov, Cold Mountain, The Sound and the Fury, The Violent Bear it Away (or something like that)

Breakfast: Breakfast burritos, Waffles, Cheerios, Pancakes, Donuts

Team: Probably the Texas football team

Book of the Bible: Hosea, John, sometimes Habakkuk

Board Game: Chess

Clothing: T-shirt, jeans i guess

President: If we're talking about favorite President, my list would look something like Lincoln, Jackson, Reagan (why do you like Reagan, if not for his politics?)
If we're talking about favorite people who happened to be President at some point it would be Lincoln, Madison, Truman, Jefferson

State: Virginia, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Georgia (because that's where Flannery is from), and North Carolina

Season: Winter

Actor: Marlon Brando, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Kevin Spacey, James Stewart, John Robbards, James Gandolfini

Actress: Frances McDormand, Parker Posey (Waiting for Guffman is the only explanation needed), Diane Keaton (for her role in the Godfathers and Woody Allen's movies...my dad would kill me for that), Edie Falco, and Gillian Anderson

Ice Cream: Strawberry

Musician: Lennon/McCartney, Jeff Tweedy, Thurston Moore, Jenny Lewis, Bob Dylan

Holiday: Christmas

by the way, Gillian Anderson is a redhead, so you should watch X Files.

Andrew, it appears the only thing we agree on is Christmas. Sadly I haven't seen any of your top movies or TV shows (minus Seinfeld and the Simpsons). Nor have I read any of the books (except Cold Mountain, which I loved).

I'm not into the whole sci-fi thing. Doesn't do it for me, even if there is a red-head...

Oh, and as for Reagan...I have my reasons ;)

i know why you picked utah, but whats with georgia and montana?

X Files isn't really Sci-Fi, but more paranormal. There is the overarching theme of faith and doubt, wanting to believe something is true and having that belief shaken to the core. It reminds me a lot of Signs in that vein. On a purely surface level, one of basic questions of the show is whether aliens exist or not, but it's much more human than that. And most of the episodes deal with things that aren't alien at all. Vampires, exorcism, repressed memory, stigmata, psychic ability, genetic mutants, etc. And again, the over-arching theme of faith and doubt reigns supreme.

You should definitely read "Till We Have Faces." It's C.S. Lewis' attempt at retelling the myth of Cupid and Psyche, and it's one of the most beautiful stories ever written.

And if you thought Reagan was cute, I'm going to throw up. He was the oldest president ever elected.

And how on earth have you not seen It's a Wonderful Life? You have to watch it. Kyle just watched it for the first time, and it made him cry.

Marie:
I say Georgia because if I was going to pick a state in the south to live in as an adult it would probably be Georgia. I choose Montana because IT IS BEAUTIFUL! If I ever hit the lotto or marry rich, that will be where you can find me.

Andrew:
I haven't even heard of It's a Wonderful Life. Sorry buddy :)

Hey, we agreed on Georgia!

And my jaw just dropped to the floor. It's the most talked about Christmas movie ever made. The line, "Every time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings" doesn't ring a bell? How can we even be friends?

Danielle said...

Nope. But now that you mention it, I think more than one person has freaked out on me because I haven't seen it. So at least I've heard of it...

As soon as Christmas break starts, you're coming to my house. Be prepared for several days, because we'll probably have to watch it 15-20 times to fully understand what George Bailey means when he says, "I want to live again."

Danielle said...

Oh ok. I'll make sure to clear my schedule ahead of time. ha.
