Also, I'm sure I answered this differently than most would have, but I was more referring to Calvin as a person instead of a theologian. Ha.

Erin- It's cool.

Andrew-
Obviously that's why I chose him ;)Actually, when I wrote that 1. I was really tired and 2. I comparing him to Luther (instead of St.Augustine) in my head. Ha. My bad.

Oh, and Candler was referring to Matt Chandler.

---------------

Also, I'm noticing everyone is coming up with their own cult leaders...stick to the game plan ppl! Ha.

Andrew said...

I know. I was just being difficult.

How come I'm the only one who chose Augustine over Calvin? Did any of you actually read the snooze-fest that is The Institutes of Christian Religion? Why the hateration?

A few comments, because I like being difficult, which you well know:

The elves question should actually read elves vs. men, in which case I'd take men.

I'm with you on Augustine, Andrew.
And for the record if it's Luther vs. Calvin, I'd take Luther.

Taylor Swift has ONE good song, but that's more than I can say for that Disney girl.

Oh, and Google Chrome by far the superior browser

The Notebook or A Walk to Remember (i haven't seen the notebook, but i will NOT pick AWTR. you're basically asking "fornication or cheese" from what i understand.)

So you choose fornication?! ha.

Trey-
1. The elves question should actually read elves vs. men, in which case I'd take men

Why in the world would it be elves vs. men?!?!

2. FYI, T-Swift has more than one good song. If you haven't heard Breath, go listen to it.

3. Quit rebelling and just do the survey, punk....hence the title. Sheesh ;)

Andrew said...

I'm with you on Augustine, Andrew.

Especially since Calvin got all his ideas from Augustine and just expressed them less beautifully. :-)

III said...

@Danielle:
1. elves vs. men, as in Legolas vs. Aragorn, or perhaps better put Thingol vs. Beren

2. I've heard Breathe, and I wasn't that impressed. The only song I actually like is Fifteen.

3. Jesus was a rebel

@Andrew:
I can't say I've read Calvin, but I'll take your word for it, 'cause Augustine is definitely beautiful writing.

Andrew said...

Trey,

If we're going to go elves vs. men, we need to specify kind. Are we talking about the Men of Gondor, the Rohirrim, the Dunedain? Numenoreans? Are we comparing them to Noldor, Sindar, or Vanyar? There's simply not enough information. That said, I too would choose Aragorn over Legolas and Beren over Thingol.
Give me Glorfindel vs. Isildur or Galadriel vs. Theoden King, and I might come down on the other side.

By the way, I didn't mean to sound down on Calvin. I just can't understand why any sane person would choose him over Augustine. :-)

III said...

Andrew, stop trying to overawe me with your superior Tolkien nerd-dom. It's not going to work.

But in any case, the best answer I think would be Earendil. Hands down.

Andrew said...

I'm not trying to over-awe you. A true Tolkienite can always recognize another. We must stick together.
